Why Early Access?

There’s something here - we’ve seen it with our own eyes, but we need your help to find the full potential!

We know that most VR users on Steam are pretty savvy by now and likely have some favorite genres already, but VR is still new and we haven’t discovered all use cases yet. Is a social game really what VR is for? Well, we think that’s one of the coolest use cases. For every intense shooter out there, there’s likely also room for a more casual experience. Especially for those occasions when you want to introduce new people to the magic of VR.

We want to let people chime in and share their experiences with Puppet Fever as we move forward. We see new ways people interact with the game watch time a new player tries it and learn the language. There is much left to discover and improve upon the basic formula. We also want to see if the concept, novel as it is, can stand on its own legs in the VR marketplace.


In short, we want the community to help us to make the game better and try and see if people respond well to the concept!

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
Until autumn 2018.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
More content! We have plenty of ideas for new content such as new game modes, puppets and theatrical special effects, but before we get ahead of ourselves, we want to run the vanilla experience by you to see what you’d like to see more of, based on your experience of having friends over to play.

A truly interactive livestreaming experience is also on our roadmap where a streamer can play the game with the audience in real time. Right now we have some of the basics in place, because even the streaming platforms are early in development in terms of VR support.

We would also like to include support for more languages.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?
The game is representative of the final product, we will primarily make improvements based on user feedback and add more ways for players to express themselves.

The livestreaming mode currently supports basic Mixer Interactive features, which are:

  • Viewers presented to the VR player as avatars

  • Viewers can react with emotes during a show

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

At this point in time we do not plan on changing the price after early access.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

Puppet Fever’s will support sharing user generated content on social media as you play the game. Searching a hashtag will make it possible to grab a snapshot of how people around the world are acting in Puppet Fever.

More importantly we will make our best to get a feel for how people actually want to play a social puppetry game in virtual reality, stalk the forums, follow livestreams and new people playing the game.
